For several years I have paid keen attention to the growing phenomenon of chickens being raised in the city. I found a site that lists published articles about it called "The Weekly Roost: chickens in the news" on the website "Urban Chickens."

IS it possible chicken will make headline news?
I monitor news articles about chickens every day and I often see articles about them. Unfortunately, the way our news media selects stories is: "If it bleeds, it leads." So, the only top headline news story about chickens you would see would be something like: "Chicken goes on rampage and kills five people." This is sad because owning chickens is satisfying and rewarding -- something that adds to the quality of life. This is a more important topic to concentrate on, but doesn't sell newspapers.
The population of chicken in my city also decrease. I hope it will increase again. Thanks for sharing.
Off course, Chickens have been in Breaking News as well! Remember "birdflu" but sad not for the positive news

Awwww, he is a cute little fella, no doubt he's a male!
The one upside is that because of the growth in our "organic" culture, certain areas are experiancing an increase in chicken population. Lets hope it stays that way!
